Friends, Family, Lovers & Collaborators:
Women In Art

An ongoing series of intimate portraits hosted and curated by Alessandra Rich; celebrating couples in all their guises wearing Spring Summer 2026.

ALANA & LUKE (Lovers)

Luke: Tell me about the art you create.

Alana: Instead of explaining what it is, I’ll explain what I do more literally; Which is I’m a multimedia artist that spans across, fashion, beauty, and film. Culture, really. Pop culture is where I like to live and where I create my work and my world.

Luke: I think that your work lives in fantasy. I think that means that you like to create a fantasy world for your art to exist, which is where you like to be. It’s a place to escape from the realities of the world, but then I think you also like to create visual work that takes people to that fantasy world as well. An escape, a fantasy, a thought that can bring them elsewhere, a chuckle, a laugh, a growl! It can bring them somewhere else.

POLINA & IRA (Family)

Ira: Why are you digging through our family archives?

Polina: To unearth the hidden stories in our collective memory.

Ira: When is a piece of work finished?

Polina: Never

PHOEBE & JIMMY (Family)

Phoebe:  I'm a sculptor and so my practice is largely looking at experiences of desire and the impacts of violence and how that can kind of be felt and processed through materials; particularly working with ceramics and sound.

Jimmy: The art that I create is mainly photographic and video, mainly taking photographs involving people, fashion, music and film.

JEANIE & FIONA (Friends)

Jeanie: What is a trait of mine that you admire?

Fiona: Well, I've always really admired your ability to capture energy in your work. There's so much intention in your use of color and shape that result in your pieces being full of life and feeling.

Fiona: Jeanie, what's a trait of mine that you admire?

Jeanie: I love many things about you, Fiona.
I love how you can find symbols of joy in your surroundings and in your interpersonal relationships and intuitively weave them into your designs.

SCARLETT, RIVER & MOSCO (Family)

Scarlett: What did mummy look like in her dresses?

River: Majestic.

Scarlett: If I was an animal, what animal would I be?

River: A ladybird!
Mosco: A monkey!
River: Actually, an orca.
